The Winged Ripper design was initially developed in 1986 by renowned artist V.C. Johnson. Originally featured on T-shirts and stickers for the 1986 Bones Brigade Summer Tour, the design was later revamped and became the prominent graphic on Powell Peralta decks, replacing the Oval Dragon. The "XT" in the name stands for Extra Tough Bonite construction, which was eventually switched to "7-P" when Bonite construction was phased out.
